The Gown Atelier Website/Layout Redesign
Product UI, Revamp
I collaborated with the lead designer from The Gown Atelier on the visual and structural redesign of the website, a luxury bridal brand focused on high-end designer gowns. My role centered on proposal in layout planning, proposing design refinements, and helping to create a more modern, elegant, and intuitive user experience that better reflected the brand’s premium positioning.
editor's note: my layout and deployment of website may differ as the final visual expression was done by the lead designer
Why the redesign?
To modernize the site layout with:
Clear visual hierarchy to emphasize gowns and designers
Refined spacing and balance to elevate the user experience
Elegant simplicity to match the boutique's brand tone
Improved content organization for better mobile and desktop flow
How did we do it?
Assisted the main designer for The Gown Atelier in redesigning the layout of The Gown Atelier's website as the brand look could use a touch up when targeting potential clients that fit the luxurious style of the brand.
Customers reviewed that the calendar booking system can be a bit confusing when trying to make an appointment, likely making them less committed and leave the website.
The discovery process
Before the polished visuals, there’s always the quiet chaos of discovery and this is where the real magic happens. For The Gown Atelier, I began the design journey by diving into moodboards, style references, and hand-drawn sketches.

I explored how traditional cinematic influences, modern bridal trends, and cultural aesthetics could coexist in one cohesive visual direction.
These early explorations helped anchor the final visual identity, guiding everything from font choices to color palettes and layout rhythm.
Blocks of ideas
I sketched alternate homepage and product listing layouts, tested multiple grid systems, and proposed ways to highlight designer collections with different styles. I also supported the development of typographic pairings and section spacing that balanced readability with luxury styling.

Final thoughts
The updated layout introduced more breathing space, a stronger focus on imagery, and a simplified navigation system. The team noted the improved elegance and ease of navigation, which aligned more closely with the brand’s premium identity.
